iGen responsible gambling

The live section of Malta Safer Gambling Week drew to an end on Friday.

The event, hosted by GamingMalta and led by iGaming European Network (iGEN), saw a number of prominent figures in the iGaming industry providing their insights on responsible gambling.

Among them was Zachary Sciberras from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), who spoke about the use of AI for safer gambling, and Kevin O’Neill from the Responsible Gaming Foundation who provided his thoughts and experiences about protecting players.

The final live event of the week featured the participation of Liesbeth Most, Stephen Orchard, and Karim Chikh, or Aspire Global, Genesis Global, and Kindred Group, respectively.

These leaders reflected on some of the concerns brought up during the week, as well as the relevance of Safer Gambling for the iGaming industry.

iGEN chairperson Enrico Bradamante delivered the closing speech.

He explained that he finds it “so important” for the iGaming industry to convene in this manner, not just to send a message, but to share knowledge and information.

He also thanked the event’s presenter Trudy Kerr, as well as the rest of the iGEN core team for delivering the event, stating that the information presented during it will all be hosted online to allow interested parties to benefit from its insights.

Reflecting on the overarching message of the event, he argued that the aspirational goal for operators to have zero revenue from harmful gambling should become a realistic industry goal.
